I did an interview with China Shop for The Bare Bones Show…

By: joe Categories:Rants

Joe Sib’s Bare Bones Show at the Laugh Factory is currently the best little secret in town. The show is that one plastered across that huge billboard spotted when driving west down Sunset, on the East-facing side of the Laugh Factory building at Laurel and Sunset. The billboard is unavoidable. A giant microphone wears a denim jacket with punk rock badges. READ MORE: http://www.chinashopmag.com/2012/03/joe-sibs-bare-bones-laugh-riot/

The Bare Bones Show Tomorrow Night 10pm Laugh Factory and Las Vegas

By: joe Categories:Rants

First, let me say, I have had way to much coffee for one person....YESSSSSS Coffeee! I love it, I need it or do I? What would my life be like without coffee? Just the thought of that gave me anxiety or maybe that is just the caffeine rushing through my veins. Tomorrow night we have the third Bare Bones Show at The laugh Factory in Hollywood at 10pm. The show is killer! Matt Skiba of the band Alkaline Trio is going to play a few songs acoustically and answer some of my random questions. Comics on the show include Finesse Mitchell, Brent Weinback,Melissa Villasenor and Cbazz. I am gonna tell the story of how I was "almost" the PINHEAD for the The Ramones last show. The story involves, NYC, running, Joey and Johnny Ramone, a dress, a mask and Eddie Vedder. OK that is is for now. Make some comments so I know people are reading this besides my Mother. Hi Mom! Love you too.

Talking, kinda listening and talking is what I do.

By: joe Categories:Rants

We taped our 3rd Complete Control last night with Chad from New Found Glory, comedian Sebastian and a live acoustic song from Man Over Board. The show feels like it is getting better and better each week. We still need to work on some things like our audio and camera work but for the most part I feel great about the show. Talk about a new experience? WOW! Some guy yells "we are going LIVE in 10 seconds!" and then bam you are off and running. If it wasn't for our killer guests the show we would be done! If you are every n LA on a Friday and want to come down to a taping of the show just let me know and we will take care of ya. Please hit me an ideas of some guests you think we should get on the show? Next week Nick 13 from Tiger Army is my guest and then on St Patrick's Day, Dave King of Flogging Molly!!!!

“Three nice chairs on a killer carpet”

By: joe Categories:Rants

This past friday I started hosting a new internet T.V. show called "Complete Control". The original title for the show was going to be "Four Nice Chairs on a Killer Carpet" but we could only afford three nice chairs so that idea ended there. So we went with Complete Control. Yes, you guested right, I got the name for the show from the CLASH song, Complete Control, one of my favorites! For the first show I asked Jay Bentley of Bad Religion to be my guest. Jay is one of the nicest guys in the world with zero attitude. Jay and I have been friends since I was a brace faced kid with bleached hair, acne and way to much energy. My second guest was comedian Iliza Shlesinger, who I just met recently. Besides, Iliza being of the funniest people out there her work ethic makes me feel like I am doing nothing. Iliza hosts two T.V. shows (ya 2 shows! see what I mean?) as well as doing stand up all over the country. Take a second to check out the show. It will only get better and so will I...I promise! Enjoy! Joe Sib!

Bones Brigade autobiography

By: joe Categories:Rants

[caption id="attachment_232" align="alignleft" width="420" caption="Bones Brigade autobiography"][/caption] Last night I took the 90 minute drive North to Santa Barbara to see Stacey Peralta's new documentary "Bones Brigade an Autobiography". For those of you who are saying, Bones Brigade? WTF is that? The Bones Brigade were a team of elite skateboarders put together and coached by skateboard legend Stacey Peralta in the late 70’s and 8O’s. The movie is both inspirational and emotionally moving. Not afraid to say it, "I laughed and I cried" I loved seeing all of the incredible skate footage of the BONES BRIGADE members at the peak of their careers but even better was seeing them all at the very beginning of their journey that would last for the next 30 years. The Bones Brigade meant everything to me when I was growing up. A huge inspiration through out my teens. Having the chance to actual see all of these guys skate in real life is one of the my life's most treasured experiences. If you are or were a skateboarder, you know what I am talking about. Now as a father to to get to skate with my son and experience it all over again...it doesn't get any better!! Thanks Bones Brigade for inspiring all of us to be more than just "skateboarders". See this movie! I demand it! Have a great weekend, Joe Sib!

By: joe Categories:Rants

True Story: I told my therapist I have this overwhelming feeling of guilt all the time. She told me next time I have this feeling I need to "sit" with The Guilt. Sit with the guilt?? I hate sitting around. So instead I went for a run with THE GUILT, then I went surfing with The Guilt, The Guilt is coming over for the superbowl in a week. The Guilt and I are becoming real tight. The Guilt is now my "bro". Have a great day.

The Bare Bones Show at The Laugh Factory Jan 19th

By: joe Categories:Rants

Every 3rd Thursday of the month at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood it is The Bare Bones Show. I started this show last year as a place where people could go and have a few drinks and see a show that was different from anything else out there. I wanted the vibe of the night to be loose and fun and give the audience a great experience. The Bare Bones Show is made up of comics, magicians, story tellers and music. You never know what you will see a Bare Bones Show. See you next week!
